History

Jeff Davis began his business with the start of the Davis Erection Company.

With rapid growth, it was in 1994 that Davis Erection Company created Crane Rental & Rigging and Industrial Equipment Sales and Service. Then came the acquisition of Hughes Steel Erection and Crane Service in Sioux City Iowa. It was also during this time that Ridgetop Holdings was created as a parent company.

Expanding again in 1996, Ridgetop Holdings purchased Northwest Steel Erection in Des Moines Iowa.

In 1999 the Crane Sales & Service Division was created and positioned to become the premier crane equipment dealer for the Midwest. The role of the Crane Sales and Service division is to sell new and used equipment, as well as meet the needs of the it’s clients, including service, preventive maintenance, parts, and training. Crane Sales & Service was awarded the Link-Belt dealership for Nebraska and southwest Iowa.

In 2000, Crane Sales & Service expanded by purchasing Finch-Bayless located in Kansas City, KS. This expanded the Link-Belt territory to now include Kansas and Western Missouri.

Crane Sales & Service currently has offices in Omaha, Lincoln, South Sioux City, NE; Sioux Falls, SD; Kansas City, KS and Des Moines, IA. Crane Sales & Service continues to grow as the Midwest's leader in providing products and services to the crane equipment and construction industries.

In 2016 Crane Sales and Service was recognized by Link-Belt as one of their Top 5 Dealers.
